The true story behind "Amber's Story" began in 1996 when nine-year-old Amber Hagerman disappeared while riding her bike in Arlington, TX, according to ABC News. Police determined that Amber Hagerman was abducted after 911 operators received a call from an elderly witness who saw a White or Hispanic man in a dark or black truck jump out of his car and pull Amber in the truck.
